Rock Eddy Favorite Green Salad

The dressing is the thing in this salad, so you are free to substitute greens and other additions.  This dressing is also very good with finely shredded cabbage for a sweet/sour slaw.  

 

*     1/2 cup vinegar
·           
¼ cup sugar 
·            ½ cup vegetable oil (we like canola)  
·            1 tsp salt

·            ½ tsp pepper

·            3 tsp Accent (MSG)  

 

We like both boston lettuce and romaine, as well as store packages of greens included.  Perhaps some celery and green onion.   Before tossing you can add these ingredients:

        -    Sliced almonds

        -    Chinese noodles

        -    Browned or toasted seeds: ¼ cup sesame seeds and 1tsb poppy seed.

 

Mix dressing and toss with salad ingredients.  Note that this salad will become soggy if kept for any length of time.    The amount of dressing produced is enough for 6-12 salad servings.  Eat it all.
