of the following restaurants, generally between 20 and 45 minutes drive.
The Point Steakhouse, Dixon. (573)-759-6100 This Restaurant is located about 5 miles south of Dixon on Hwy 28. It is situated on the Bluff at "Portuguese Point," a scenic overlook above the Gasconade River. Known for steaks, The Point has other entrees, including delicious catfish. Wine and beer are available. The view is spectacular, the food excellent. Call for reservations on weekends. (Open Tues - Sat. 2pm to 10pm; Sun. 11-2.) All Credit cards accepted. Moreland's Catfish Patch, Vienna (573) 422-9900 Located about 5 miles south of Vienna off Hwy 63. Turn on Country Road #325 and follow to end. The name says most of it! The catfish is scrumptious and there is a full menu of other items. This is a nice place to eat. Mixed drinks are available. Reservations usually not needed, but may be a good idea. . Open every day 11am to 9 pm.
The Cave Restaurant, rural Richland (573) 765-4554 The restaurant is located in a cave in a Gasconade river bluff. From the parking lot you are driven to the cave and lifted in an elevator to the entrance. The interior is quite nice. Hours: Wed, Thurs, Fri 4 - 8:30 pm. Sat., Sun. 11:30 - 8:30 pm. Food is good and the experience is unusual. Located off I-44 west of here. (See us for directions) The drive will take 45 minutes to an hour. Reservations a good idea.
Sybill's Restaurant, St. James 573-265-4224 This place offers a fine dining experience and has become quite popular in the region. A full menu along with mixed drinks is available. Because of its popularity, reservations are definitely recommended. Hours: Tues. thru Sat. 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, Sunday, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The Bistro at White Stone, Rich Fountain. (573) 744-5827 Located in what was the early general store in this "quarter to half-horse" town dominated by the German-catholic church high on the hill.. The quarried stone structure of the inn is beautifully restored. The menu consists of only a few entrees and changes weekly. Seating is for twenty people only. Wine and mixed drinks are available. You'll find this a quaint setting with excellent food. Open Fri. & Sat, 5-9). Reservations only.
The Westphalia Inn, Westphalia. (573) 455-2000 Located in the old hotel in this historic German-Catholic town, the Westphalia Inn consists of a well known family style restaurant and an upstairs lounge serving drinks, buffet style pizza, hamburgers, tenderloins, chicken strips, etc. and appetizers. The restaurant well known for their pan fried chicken and country ham, served with scrumptious country fixings. Open Friday 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm and Sat. 4:30pm to 8:30 pm and Sunday 11:30 am to 6:30 pm. Reservations recommended.
The Towne Club, Westphalia, (573) 455-2546 This place is located next door to the Westphalia Inn and is frequented by locals. The atmosphere is distinctly casual. The food is good and you may order beer or eat at the bar. Open Thurs. 4:00 - 8:00, Fri. and Sat. 4:00 - 9:00.
Other cafes are located in nearby Dixon and Vienna and are good places to eat. Some of the closest are "The Dairy Park" at the intersection of Hwys 63 and 28 near Vienna, and "Margie's" and the Farmer's Cafe at the sale barn in Vienna. Also "The Home Plate" on the main drag of Dixon is a pleasant small cafe where the food is good and you can also get a beer or glass or wine and watch the game on TV.
In St. Robert (25 miles) there are several chain restaurants such as Cracker Barrel and Aussie Jacks. In Rolla, (35 miles) there are several eating establishments from BBQ places to steak houses, and Chinese. We have menus for several of them. At Lake Ozark (one hour) are top eateries such as the Blue Heron and the Potted Steer)We will be most happy to help you with dining arrangements. Just ask!
