Indian House Bluff Cottage secluded bluff-top rental

IMG_0254 DSCF5458 DSC_8838DSC_8814 BR@IHB Clifty Creek Natural Bridge Seclusion, beauty, relaxation.  Comfort with access to the river and hills. This cottage is perched two hundred feet above the river.  It contains three bedrooms with comfortable queen beds.  A sofa bed provides another single.   There is one bath with shower/tub, a living area and a large kitchen.  At the front, a deck overlooks the valley with room for outdoor dinning or just relaxing.  Or you can enjoy a wood fire outside for evenings of stories and laughter.  The cottage is “turnkey”, you will find everything you need except for your personal items. Local historians, now long gone, claimed that an Indian house once stood on this scenic spot on the bluff over the river. Perhaps in proof of that, we have since found many ancient artifacts here. Now, from the comfort of this modern cottage, it is still not hard to envision those early people enjoying this special location. You’ll make this your central location for trips to the river, hikes in the woods, for forays up beautiful Clifty Creek, antiquing or shopping trips, or for simply relaxing.

Tom and his three brothers grew up here.  The old cabin (nearby) still stands, a relic of a wonderful childhood.  The modern cottage was built years later after the boys were gone into the world.  Back then those boys could lead you to every fold in the hills —  every interesting place where once stood a log cabin or where could be found signs of the earliest native Americans, even to hidden caves in the bluffs.   The magic is still here to discover.  Pick your pleasure,  from invigorating outdoor pursuits such as canoeing, fishing, hiking, and nature watching to simply relaxing and unwinding in bucolic surroundings.
