We are back from our 6-week road trip, where we ran mostly westward along the Mexican border. Gosh it was fun! We truly became lazy, dry camping in the desert with our RV and letting each day meld into the next.

Our apologies for the inconvenience in making reservations while we were away. Most of the time we were away from cell phone coverage. We would occasionally find a wireless connection to the internet or "borrow" some computer time from a local library. But mostly we were just unreachable. Thing is, we both love to travel and want to make space for our occasional roamings.
Check the Website www.rockeddy.com All info should be updated and current now. Or you can go directly to our availability calendar by Clicking here. And, we are now reachable again. You can phone us at 800-335-5921 with your reservations, questions, or simply to ask what we have learned about the itinerant life in a travel trailer. Remember, there is also a secure form on out website for making on-line reservations requests.
The lure of fire. We long been aware that folks coming to Rock Eddy Bluff Farm l
ove to be near a fire -- either a outside fire in the evening on a fire in the fireplace or stove. Of course, we accommodate. We're positive that gazing into the glowing embers of a wood fire that lowers your blood pressure and sends you into a more relaxed, contemplative mood. Conversation goes better around a fire, friendships are renewed. Of course there is work involved. The photo show our French innkeeper friend learning how to split wood for fires at Rock Eddy.
Valentines Day falls on a Tuesday, a clumsy day for that romantic getaway. Maybe that is why we still have good availability on the weekend before. Check out the weekend of Feb. 10-11 and let us know where you and your honey want to stay.
Guests ask about hunting. Their is plenty of game on our place and some guests want to know about deer and turkey hunting. We regret not being able to allow hunting here. We want every guests to be able to roam the woods at will at any time. That precludes having hunters in the woods too. However, there are some publicly owned parcels of land in the area which allow
hunting. If you are interested, ask us. Fishing, of course, is another matter. You are free to take one of our canoes and entice all the fish you can onto your hook.
If you love photography don't forget your camera when you come to Rock Eddy Bluff Farm. The location abounds with photo-ops. Any time of year is good, but we especially love to go abroad in the hills with our camera during spring and fall.
Report from the road. If you are interested, click this link to see our report from the border at one of the places we stopped for a few days. It'll give you an idea of the manner in which we love to travel.
Solar power coming to Phoebe's Perch. While we were away we had our RV equipped with solar power. We plan to use some of those panels to runs lights at Phoebe's rustic cabin. If you are interested in solar power, we'd be happy to show you what we have learned.

Frequent guest rewards program. Returning guests already know about it. Here's a reminder: Stay six times at any inn belonging to the Missouri Bed & Breakfast Inns of Missouri www.bbim.org , and you will receive a hundred dollar gift certificate good at any member inn. For those who have the enrollment card, be certain to bring it with you for your next sticker. The card glove box is a good location, so you don't forget it.
Until we see you, Kathy and Tom Corey
