FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions about Rock Eddy Bluff Farm

What about children?
Children are more than welcome in our cottages or in Aunt Phoebe’s Perch cabin for older children.  The location provides an excellent opportunity for kids to commune with nature.

Are the accommodations private?
The cottages & cabins are quite private and secluded well away from each other in the trees.

Check-in and Check-out: Check-in is normally 3:00 to 8:30. If your anticipated arrival is substantially later, please notify us at 573-759-6081.  Check out time is 11:30 am.  We want to accommodate your schedule if we can, so please ask about different about check-in/check-out times.

Are you difficult to find?   Not at all, though we ask that you follow the directions found on this site and on your reservation confirmation.   GPS directions will often confuse you by bringing you in by back-country roads.                                                                                  We love the fact that we are well away in the country, away from the crowds and bustle.

May we bring our pet (dog or cat)?  Yes, in cottages and cabins we allow two pets only, with some restrictions: 1) Pets must be well mannered and stay off beds and furniture, 2) They should be treated for fleas,  3) they can’t be left alone indoors (unless crated) . We have resident pets on the farm.

May I bring my horse(s)?
Yes, horse pens are available.

What about smoking?
Outside and on decks and porches only please.

Are canoes available? Bikes?
Yes, canoes and a jon boat await you at the river. Bring your own bikes. Or we have a few for guests use.

Can we fish, swim, explore?
Sure, the Gasconade River is a noted small mouth bass stream. Bring your fishing gear and swimming trunks. Cliffy Creek Natural Area is our neighbor, offering an excellent hike to the natural bridge.  The creek offers some great splashing for kids. We will direct you.

What about outside fires & BBQ?
There are fire pits at each cottage or cabin. (Firewood is provided and there is a cooking grate.) BBQ kettles are also found there, but you should bring your own charcoal.

What about meals?
Cottage/cabins have kitchens and self-catered breakfast food is provided. Bring other groceries or discover nearby eateries.

What should I bring?  Your personal recreational gear, a camera, a good book, or select from our library. In the warmer months, don’t forget a repellant containing DEET for hikes in the woods.  Everything else is provided!
